Your big day, beside the river.

Bring your people together by the river

Kataluma is a bushveld function venue on the banks of the Zwavelpoort river, just outside the city. Gather around the boma with its log walls and fire pit, then relax on the deck overlooking the river. When it's time to eat, sit down under our new steel roof to a proper feast: lamb on the spit, potjiekos or a full South African braai, made by our own catering team.

We host weddings, birthdays and family celebrations, year-end and company functions, and joint baby showers and men's doeke braais. We take only one function a day, so the venue is yours.

• Guests: best for around 120 seated guests, ideal for 50 to 80. 120 to 160 fit under the roof, with open space outside for hired tents.
• Weddings: ceremonies on the lawns with the trees and river behind you, reception under the roof.
• Bring your own drinks: we don't have a liquor licence.
